A court in Bareilly made a big comment in the Love Jihad case. The court admitted that there is foreign funding behind Love Jihad. He has called it a conspiracy to destabilize India like Pakistan and Bangladesh and a threat to the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country. The court has also defined love jihad in its decision. Fast Track First Ravi Kumar Diwakar wrote in his judgment, Hindu girls are being lured into love for illegal conversion. Situations like Pakistan and Bangladesh are being created in India. The court made these comments while sentencing 25-year-old Mohammed Aleem to life imprisonment for raping and threatening a student by falsely identifying himself.

The court also sentenced his 65-year-old father to two years in jail for aiding the man in the crime. Judge Diwakar wrote in his judgment, the main objective of Love Jihad is to establish supremacy against India by some anarchist elements of a particular religion as part of demographic war and international conspiracy. In simple words, Love Jihad is the marriage of women belonging to other communities by men of a particular community under the pretense of love in order to convert them to their religion. Illegal conversion through Love Jihad is done by some anarchist elements of that particular religion, gets it done, cooperates in it or gets involved in this conspiracy. He has also clarified that this act is done by only a few unruly elements but the entire religion is defamed.

Love Jihad is happening with foreign funding, a threat to the country

The court has said in the decision that illegal conversion takes place through love jihad. To stop illegal religious conversion, Uttar Pradesh Government passed the Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act 2021. The court has written in its decision that illegal conversion is done through Love Jihad to fulfill some other bigger objective. If the Indian Government does not stop illegal conversion through Love Jihad in time, then the country may have to suffer serious consequences in the future.

Court accepted that love jihad was done for conversion

Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar of Fast Track Court I considered it a case of Love Jihad and started the hearing by framing charges on March 7, 2024. To prove the allegation, ADGC Crime Digambar Patel had presented six witnesses including the victim student. After listening to the arguments of both the parties, the court sentenced Aalim to life imprisonment for committing love jihad for the purpose of religious conversion.

Marriage conducted in religious place declared illegal

The court also declared the marriage conducted by Aalim with the victim at a religious place in Fatehganj West as illegal. The court has said in its decision that under the Hindu Marriage Act, it is necessary for both of them to be Hindus while the scholar has not converted to religion. With only the intention of love jihad and conversion, he filled the mang with vermillion to trap the girl, which cannot be considered as marriage.

Copy of order sent to Principal Secretary and DGP

In the case of Love Jihad with a computer student, Devraniya Police did not take action under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act. The court of Fast Track I judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar has sent a copy of the decision in this case to the Chief Secretary, DGP Police and SSP Bareilly and has given instructions to take action under this Act in the cases of Love Jihad. So that legal action is taken in future.

Life imprisonment to the culprit of love jihad

In a case of Love Jihad, Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar of Fast Track Court I has sentenced Mohammad Alim to life imprisonment. Aalim’s father Sabir, the second accused in the case, has also been sentenced to two years imprisonment. Sabir was accused of abusing the victim. Besides, a fine of Rs 1 lakh has also been imposed on the culprit. ADGC Crime Digambar Patel said that a computer student had lodged a report against Aalim at Devarnia police station. The student from Bareilly alleged that while studying in computer coaching, she met Aalim, a resident of Jadopur, Bhojipura. He told his name as Anand and also tied Kalava on his hand. One day, on the pretext of marriage, the accused filled her demand with vermilion in a religious place. Then they had sex in a friend’s room near the university and made obscene videos and photos. After this, they raped her several times in the hotel after threatening to make the photos and videos viral. Due to this she became pregnant. The student says that when she went to the accused’s house in Jadopur, she came to know that his name is not Anand but Mohammad Alim. There, Aalim’s father Sabir, brothers Wajid and Nazim, sister Shifa and his mother asked him to undergo abortion and convert to religion. When the student protested against converting, her family members beat her and drove her away from home. Had an abortion on 11 May 2023 in the nursing home of Hafizganj. The police had presented a charge sheet in the court against Aalim on charges of rape, assault, abuses, threat of murder and abuses against his father Sabir.
