After the announcement of resignation of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, a war of words has started between Aam Aadmi Party and Bharatiya Janata Party. Aam Aadmi Party has alleged that BJP spokesperson and MP Sudhanshu Trivedi has called Kejriwal a convict while the trial has not even started. Kejriwal government minister Saurabh Bhardwaj told Sudhanshu Trivedi to mind his words. He also said that Sudhanshu Trivedi should get himself treated, otherwise he knows how to do it.
Saurabh Bhardwaj said, ‘Convicted means declared guilty, Arvind Kejriwal’s trial has not even started and you have declared him convicted. Sudhanshu Trivedi should get himself treated, otherwise we know how to treat him. I warn him, he should speak carefully.’ After Kejriwal’s resignation announcement, Saurabh Bhardwaj said in a press conference with Atishi, ‘Sudhanshu Trivedi is an educated person. I strongly object to the word convict he used for Kejriwal. He should have this much understanding. He is an MP.’
What did Sudhanshu Trivedi say?
BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi launched a scathing attack on Arvind Kejriwal in a press conference after his resignation. He said that Kejriwal is the first CM who went to jail while in office and he is the first CM who was prevented by the court from going to the Chief Minister’s office. Accusing Kejriwal of comparing himself to Bhagat Singh, he said, ‘What can be a bigger joke than that the accused in the liquor scam are comparing themselves to Bhagat Singh, the souls of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh and those who sacrificed for the country must be in pain, this is the same country for which Maharana Pratap ate grass roti, for which Lakshmibai jumped into the battle, for which Bhagat Singh was hanged, so that a criminal accused of corruption can use his name today. By this, a convicted Chief Minister, I can say, has tarnished the reputation of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh ji. This is objectionable, condemnable and painful.
