TelecomTalk’s one Report This has been explained in detail. According to the report, BSNL says that a service like BSNL Live TV is for the first time in India.
According to the report, BSNL has partnered with another company to start its live TV service. The official of that company told TelecomTalk that BSNL Live TV service will be provided only to BSNL’s FTTH customers i.e. Fiber Internet customers.
First of all this service will start in Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh. After that it will be launched in the remaining states in a phased manner. The official said that JioTV+ is a completely HLS based streaming service. The consumption of watching channels in that service is charged directly from the customer’s internet plan.
This is not the case with BSNL. BSNL FTTH service customers’ data will not be reduced if they watch BSNL Live TV. Even if the internet goes down, TV channels will still be streamed. BSNL Live TV service has nothing to do with internet speed and latency. This means that users using BSNL Live TV will not have to worry about internet speed or its shutdown.
However, how much will customers have to pay for this service? Will this service be available in their existing internet plans or will it be available only on select BSNL plans? There is no information about this yet.
