India too reported its first case of the deadly monkeypox clade 1B strain on Monday. Official sources have confirmed this to PTI. Officials said that this is the same strain due to which the World Health Organization (WHO) declared monkeypox a public health emergency last month. This case of monkeypox clade 1B strain has been found in a person from Kerala.
