Delhi CM Atishi Oath Ceremony Live Update: Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi took oath as the new Chief Minister of Delhi on Saturday. Atishi, who became an MLA from Kalkaji assembly seat in South Delhi for the first time, is the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi. Earlier, Sushma Swaraj from BJP and Sheila Dixit from Congress have held power in Delhi. Along with Atishi, 5 cabinet ministers will also take oath today. Atishi is considered close to Manish Sisodia. After Sisodia’s arrest, she was made a minister for the first time on 9 March 2023 last year.
Officials of the Delhi Lieutenant Governor’s Office said that the swearing-in ceremony of the new Chief Minister will be held at Raj Niwas at 4:30 pm on Saturday and her cabinet will also take oath. The new cabinet of the Delhi government will include Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Imran Hussain and Mukesh Ahlawat, who became MLA for the first time from Sultanpur Majra. Officials said that President Draupadi Murmu has appointed Atishi as the Chief Minister of Delhi from the date of swearing-in and has also accepted the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal. According to an AAP leader, the ceremony is likely to be held in a simple manner.
