Delhi Police detained Sonam Wangchuk who reached Singhu border from Ladakh, Rahul attacks PM

Amidst tight security in the national capital, Delhi Police has detained famous social activist Sonam Wangchuk along with her supporters from Singhu border.

Section 163 of BNS has been imposed at many places in the capital for the next one week. During this period, there will be a ban on protests in these areas and there will be a ban on going out with any kind of weapon. Meanwhile, around 120 people from Ladakh, including climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who were marching demanding Sixth Schedule status to Ladakh, have been detained by Delhi Police at the Singhu border of the national capital.

120 people including Wangchuk in custody

Police sources said those detained, including Wangchuk, have been taken to Alipore and other police stations bordering the city. According to PTI-language report, Wangchuk and others wanted to spend the night at the border. Due to the prohibition in Delhi, they were first asked to go back, but when they did not stop, the policemen already deployed at the border detained about 120 people, including Wangchuk. It is said that Sonam Wangchuk had reached Singhu border at night from Ladakh via Chandigarh.

Rahul’s attack on PM Modi

On the detention of Sonam Wangchuk, Rahul Gandhi has directly attacked PM Modi in his post on Twitter. Rahul Gandhi said- It is unacceptable to detain Sonam Wangchuk ji and hundreds of Ladakhis who were marching peacefully for environment and constitutional rights. Protest by many organizations

Apart from New Delhi, Central Delhi, North Delhi, all the borders of Delhi have been kept under section 163 of BNS. Starting from September 30, Section 163 will continue till October 5. In the order issued by Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, it has been said that many organizations have called for organizing various programs including protests in the Delhi area in the first week of October 2024.

Order to impose section 163 in the area

Delhi Police Commissioner has said that maintaining law and order in Delhi will be very sensitive due to issues like Waqf Amendment Bill (Proposed), Shahi Eidgah issue, MCD Standing Committee elections, while apart from all these, the declaration of DUSU results is also yet to be done. Is suspended. In such a situation, Delhi Police Commissioner has ordered to implement Section 163 in the given area.

Keep an eye on people and vehicles coming from the borders

In this order, due to Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, there will be heavy movement of VVIP persons in New Delhi and Central District. Also, assembly elections are going on in Jammu-Kashmir and Haryana. Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora has said in the order that apart from protesting in any public area, these will also be banned.

1- Any kind of gathering together of five or more unauthorized persons and holding banners, placards

2- Carrying any kind of weapon, sticks, spears, swords.
