SC SC Reservation Sub-quota Creamy Layer: Union Minister Chirag Paswan has objected to the Supreme Court’s decision to create a creamy layer in the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories. Chirag’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has decided to file a review petition in the apex court. The Union Minister said that we cannot comment on the Supreme Court’s decision, but our party has objections to this matter. Therefore, we are going to file a petition demanding reconsideration. Two days ago also, LJP (Ram Vilas) had issued a statement opposing the creation of sub-categories and introduction of creamy layer in SC ST reservation.
Union Food Processing Minister and LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan participated in the program of food processing entrepreneurs at Maurya Hotel in Patna on Saturday. After this, while talking to the media, he said that as far as SC is concerned, there are such castes in it, whose basis is untouchability. Therefore, there cannot be a provision of bringing quota of reservation within reservation. Also, there cannot be a provision of creamy layer.
Chirag further said that discrimination on the basis of untouchability is still happening with the rich people of the Dalit community. There are also big names of the Dalit community who go to the temple, then the temple is washed with Gangajal. This shows that discrimination is happening on the basis of untouchability.

Let us tell you that the Supreme Court, while giving an important decision last Thursday, approved the creation of sub-categories in SC and ST reservation. Along with this, the states were also directed to make a policy to exclude economically and socially prosperous people by creating a creamy layer in these categories on the lines of OBC. Since then, a debate has started across the country on SC ST reservation.
