Union Home Minister Amit Shah has strongly targeted the alliance between Congress and National Conference (NC) ahead of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. He accused the Congress party of ‘repeatedly endangering the unity and security of the country to satisfy its hunger for power’. Along with this, he has also asked 10 questions to the Congress. Let us tell you that National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah had announced on Thursday that the alliance with Congress has been finalized on all 90 seats of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. This announcement was made after Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge held a meeting with the leadership of the National Conference at Abdullah’s residence.
Now Amit Shah has strongly attacked the Congress over this pre-poll alliance. Amit Shah wrote in a post on Twitter, “The Congress party, which has repeatedly put the country’s unity and security at risk in its greed for power, has once again exposed its nefarious intentions by forming an alliance with the Abdullah family’s ‘National Conference’ in the Jammu and Kashmir elections. Looking at the promises made in the manifesto of the National Conference, my 10 questions to the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi are as follows.”
Amit Shah asked 10 questions-
1) Does Congress support National Conference’s promise of a separate flag for Jammu and Kashmir again?
2) Does Rahul Gandhi and Congress party support JKNC’s decision to push Jammu and Kashmir back into the era of unrest and terrorism by bringing back Article 370 and Article 35A?
3) Does Congress support promoting separatism again by talking to Pakistan instead of the youth of Kashmir?
4) Does the Congress Party and Rahul Gandhi support the National Conference’s decision to start ‘LoC trade’ with Pakistan, which will boost cross-border terrorism and its ecosystem?
5) Does Congress support bringing back terrorism, terror and shutdown by reinstating the family members of those involved in terrorism and stone pelting incidents in government jobs?
6) This alliance has exposed the anti-reservation stance of the Congress party. Is the Congress with the JKNC’s promise to do injustice to Dalits, Gujjars, Bakarwals and Paharis again by ending their reservation?
7) Does Congress want ‘Shankaracharya Parvat’ to be known as ‘Takht-e-Suliman’ and ‘Hari Parvat’ to be known as ‘Koh-e-Maran’?
8) Does Congress support the politics of pushing Jammu and Kashmir’s economy into corruption and handing it over to select Pakistan-backed families?
9) Does Congress Party support JKNC’s politics of discrimination between Jammu and Valley?
10) Do Congress and Rahul Gandhi support JKNC’s divisive thinking and policies of giving autonomy to Kashmir?
The Narendra Modi government in 2019 revoked Article 370, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, and divided the erstwhile state into union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Since then, assembly elections are going to be held in Jammu and Kashmir. The last assembly elections in this union territory were held in 2014. Now elections for the 90-member assembly of Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases on September 18, September 25 and October 1. The results will be declared on October 4.
A pre-poll alliance has been formed between the Congress and the National Conference. On Thursday itself, while addressing party workers in Jammu, Rahul Gandhi had said, “An alliance is being formed and I hope that in whatever way the alliance is formed, our soldiers, workers and commanders will get due respect.” Gandhi assured that restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir is the priority of the Congress and ‘India’ alliance. When asked about his assurance, Abdullah expressed hope that full statehood with all powers will be restored.
