Donald Trump: There are reports of gunfire during a rally organised by former US President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania on Saturday. He was taken off the stage by Secret Service agents after loud gunshots were heard. When Trump, surrounded by security agents, was being taken off the stage, blood was seen around his right ear. However, he is said to be out of danger.
Presidential elections are going to be held in the US in November. In such a situation, the attack on the former president before this is going to increase the concern of American citizens.
Meanwhile, the Secret Service has said in a post on X that the former president is safe. Spokesperson Steven Cheung said in a statement, “President Trump thanked the security agencies for their quick action following the incident. He is fine and is being examined at a local hospital. More information will be given later.”
When Trump was addressing a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, suddenly the sound of firing was heard. After this there was screaming. Trump was heard saying on the mic, “Let me get my shoes.” Security agents helped him stand back on his feet.
After this, security agents put him in a safe car. When he was being taken down from the stage, Trump raised his fist towards the crowd.
Trump was addressing his last rally in swing-state Pennsylvania before the Republican National Convention begins on Monday. He is preparing to announce his vice presidential nominee. In a post on X shortly after the event, the House Republican urged Americans to pray for former President Donald Trump.
On this event, the White House said that President Joe Biden was briefed by Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Homeland Security Advisor Liz Sherwood-Randall. The President’s Chief of Staff and other aides also attended the briefing.
