Samajwadi Party (SP) MP from Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, Awadhesh Prasad has demanded an investigation into the land deals in Ayodhya. He has also demanded the formation of a committee to investigate the deals made in Ayodhya after the Supreme Court’s decision in 2019. He has alleged irregularities in the deals. He also said that people’s houses were demolished due to the projects, so the people of Ayodhya rejected the Bharatiya Janata Party.
During the discussion on the budget on Monday, Prasad said that after the court’s decision, there was a large-scale sale of land in Ayodhya. According to the Indian Express, he said, “There have been irregularities. A piece of land worth Rs 2 crore has been sold for Rs 18 crore. Its buyers are none other than BJP people. They have ruined the farmers, so the public is angry.”
He has also demanded an investigation into many other constructions including Ram Path, airport projects. The MP said, ‘That report should be tabled in Parliament so that the situation can be clarified.’ Prasad says that the ruling party has betrayed the people of Ayodhya. He said that neither Ayodhya nor Uttar Pradesh has been mentioned anywhere in the budget.
He also said that houses were demolished in Ayodhya due to the projects, so the public rejected the BJP. He said, ‘Be it Ram Path or Aerodrome or any other construction, people’s houses were demolished using bulldozers. Therefore, the BJP has been completely rejected.’ The SP MP also said that shops have been built by demolishing the settlement of OBC Nishad community.
He alleged that these shops were given to crorepatis. He claimed that BJP will lose the state elections in 2027 and the Lok Sabha elections in 2029.
