According to the crash report of the year 2023, the maximum accidents and deaths in the district are happening between 6 pm and 6 am.
This survey was conducted to reduce accidents and incidents. In such a situation, a target has been set to reduce road accidents and deaths by 20 percent in the coming one year. According to the crash report, 439 people died in 1190 road accidents in the year 2023. Apart from this, 1020 people were seriously injured. 62 percent of the deaths in these accidents occurred between 6 pm and 6 am. 58 percent of the accidents also occurred at night.

According to experts, the roads of Gurugram are not safe for walking at night. In Gurugram, one youth dies in road accidents every 20 hours. This has been revealed in the data prepared by the traffic police.
Technical flaws on many roads: Road safety expert Navdeep Singh said that the city roads are not safe to walk on at night. Apart from lack of adequate lighting on these roads at night, poor road engineering, lack of adequate signage boards and reflectors are also a major reason. Apart from this, illegal parking of vehicles on the inner roads of the city including Delhi-Jaipur Highway, Kundli-Manesar-Palwal is also considered a major cause of accidents. Apart from this, drivers put their lives as well as others’ lives at risk by driving in the wrong direction in search of a short-cut at night. The awareness campaign of the police is also becoming ineffective.
More accidents happen on national highways
According to the crash report, the national highway accounts for 2.1 percent of the total road network in Gurugram, but it is a matter of concern that 45 percent of road accidents and deaths occur in just 2.1 percent of the area. Whereas 55 percent of deaths and accidents occur on the inner roads of the city. In such a situation, there are many reasons for accidents on the national highway at night. Among these, lack of proper reflectors, high speed, insufficient lighting and illegal parking as well as poor road engineering are a major reason.
Traveling on these five roads is dangerous at night
