IMD Rain Alert: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a big warning regarding rain in August and September. The Meteorological Department has said that there will be more rain than normal during this period. The reason for this will be La Nina coming at the end of August. Although there will be a slight break in the monsoon in mid-August, but it is not expected to make much difference to the total rainfall during the two months. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has also warned that heavy rains in September can also cause many problems.
Let us tell you that due to La Nina, there is good rainfall in India. However, the conditions that will arise due to this will create problems. According to the Meteorological Department, the rain that La Nina will bring in September can lead to waterlogging and flood-like conditions in cities. Low-lying areas may also face the problem of waterlogging. Apart from this, incidents of landslides can be seen in hilly areas. According to IMD, even though there was an 11 percent reduction in monsoon rain in India in June, it was compensated in July. According to IMD Chief Mrityunjay Mahapatra, there has been 9 percent more rain in July, which is more than normal.
IMD Chief Mrityunjay Mahapatra said that most parts of the country are expected to receive above normal rainfall in the second half of the monsoon season. However, parts of Northeast, East India, Ladakh, Central India and peninsular parts including Saurashtra and Kutch may remain deprived of it. Giving the weather forecast for August, Mohapatra said that different parts of the country may receive normal or above normal rainfall this month. He said that parts of South India, North Peninsular India, parts connecting Northeast and East India, parts of North West, Southern Peninsular India are expected to receive below normal rainfall.
