Petrol Diesel Price Today: The expectation of petrol and diesel becoming cheaper between Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections has once again increased. Public sector companies have got scope to reduce the prices of petrol and diesel by two to three rupees per liter. Because, the decline in crude oil prices in recent weeks has improved the profits of petroleum companies on vehicle fuel.
According to Bloomberg Energy, today the November futures of Brent crude have fallen by 0.77 percent to $ 71.05 per barrel. Whereas, WTI crude has also come down to $67.12 per barrel. Today oil marketing companies have updated the rates of petrol and diesel, but no changes have been made in it. Today the cheapest petrol and diesel in the country is in Port Blair. Here the price of one liter petrol is Rs 82.42 and diesel is Rs 78.01.
Why the expectation of reduction in petrol and diesel rates increased
Crude oil prices averaged US$74 per barrel in September, up from US$83 to 84 per barrel in March. The prices of petrol and diesel were last reduced by Rs 2 per litre.
Crude oil had crossed 100 dollars
Let us tell you that due to Corona, when the prices fell to a two-decade low of $19.9 in March 2020, there has been a sharp increase in the prices. In March 2022, prices crossed $100 for the first time since 2014 and in June 2022 they reached a decade high of $116 per barrel.
Petrol and diesel prices in India were deregulated in 2010 and 2014 respectively. Till 2017, oil marketing companies changed the prices every 15 days, since then the prices should be revised daily, but this has not happened.
