A horrific road accident has occurred in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh. 10 people died in the collision between a truck and a tractor late at night. The injured in the accident were taken to the hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
10 laborers died in a collision between a truck and a tractor near Katka Padav of Kachhwa police station area of Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh. SP Abhinandan said that three others are injured. All three injured have been admitted to Varanasi Trauma Centre. The bodies of seven of the deceased have been sent to Mirzapur and three to Aurai post mortem house in Bhadohi district.
13 workers including Ajay Saroj, a resident of a village in Mirzamurad police station area of Varanasi, had gone to Aurai to do roof casting work. When the work was over around 1 o’clock in the night, all the workers were returning to their homes riding on a tractor trolley. When the tractor reached near Katka stop in Mirzapur district, a speeding truck from behind hit the trolley. Due to this, the tractor trolley overturned on GT Road and ten workers died on the spot after the truck ran over them.
Three other workers were seriously injured. There was an outcry at the spot. By then a crowd of people from nearby also gathered. As soon as information about this was received, on the instructions of SP Abhinandan, the police of Kachhwa and Chunar Kotwali reached the spot. Police called an ambulance and sent the bodies of the seven dead to Mirzapur Mortuary House. All three deceased have been sent to Aurai. Three seriously injured workers were sent to Varanasi Trauma Center for treatment. Additional Superintendent of Police City Nitesh Singh had also reached the spot in the night itself.
