The Hyundai Ioniq 9 was launched on Thursday, November 21 at an event at the Goldstein House in Los Angeles. Launching first in South Korea and in the US in the second half of next year, the Ioniq 9 is a three-row all-electric SUV. There are currently three Ioniq cars in the company’s portfolio and the Ioniq 9 is the longest SUV among them with a 3130 mm wheelbase. It gets a massive 110.3kWh battery pack, which as per Hyundai’s claim, is capable of driving the car 620 km on a full charge. If it is charged with the 350 kW charger provided by the company, the EV will take only 24 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent. It can reach 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.2 seconds.

Hyundai Ioniq 9 has been presented to the world. Hyundai plans to launch the car first in South Korea and in the US in the second half of next year. The price of the car has not been revealed yet. Hyundai aims to introduce 23 new electric cars by 2030.

The Ioniq 9 is the largest of all three EVs from Hyundai. Its wheelbase is 3,130 mm. The electric SUV will come with six and seven-seat configurations. With the second and third rows folded, the Ioniq 9 offers a total of 1,899 mm of headroom and 2,050 mm of legroom. When the third row seats are folded flat, the boot is 1,323 litres. When three rows are open, it offers up to 620 liters of boot space. Not only this, the front boot is 88 liters in the rear-wheel drive option and 52 liters in the four-wheel drive option.

Hyundai adds a 110.3kWh battery pack to the Ioniq 9, which is claimed to deliver a range of around 620 km. Hyundai says the battery pack supports a 350 kW charger and can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 24 minutes. The EV comes equipped with vehicle-to-load (V2L) and 400V/800V multi-charging capability. Hyundai will offer Ioniq 9 in three variants. The long-range rear-wheel drive trim will be equipped with a 160 kW electric motor mounted on the rear axle and a 70 kW motor at the front. The Performance all-wheel drive trim will be equipped with 160 kW motors at both ends. This trim can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.2 seconds, while the Long Range AWD variant claims to achieve this speed in 6.7 seconds. The Long Range RWD version can complete this task in 9.4 seconds.

The Ioniq 9 features a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is part of a panoramic curved display, which also houses a 12-inch digital driver display. It offers BOSE premium sound system equipped with 14 speakers and 5.1-channel surround sound. The Ioniq 9 also features an e-Active Sound Design that uses the car’s sound system to generate virtual driving sounds of the EV.
