Shiv Sena’s (UBT) verbal attack against CJI i.e. Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud continues. Now party chief Uddhav Thackeray has said that I thank the CJI for not giving a ‘next date’ to Ganpati Bappa. In fact, recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited the CJI’s residence and participated in the worship of Ganesh ji with his family. Many opposition leaders had raised questions on this.
During a rally held in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Sunday, Uddhav Thackeray took a dig at the CJI. He said, ‘We all know that the PM had visited the CJI’s residence and due to this he had to face criticism from all over the country. However, I want to thank the CJI that he did not give a next date to Ganpati Bappa due to PM Modi coming to the house.’
He said, ‘We are seeking justice from the court not only as Shiv Sena but as a party. We want to know whether democracy will survive in this country or not.’ He said, ‘We have faith in the judiciary, but if justice is not delivered on time, we have a higher court to go to… and we want justice from the people.’ He also rejected the allegations of the ruling Mahayuti alliance that the Mahavikas Aghadi had refused to provide funds for the Marathwada Water Grid Project.
The matter is in the Supreme Court
The Maharashtra Assembly Speaker had declared the Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as the real one. He also refused to disqualify the MLAs who rebelled against Uddhav Thackeray. Currently, this matter is pending in the Supreme Court. After this, Uddhav Thackeray’s party got a new name and election symbol from the Election Commission.
Uddhav Thackeray said, ‘Last time we did not get time to campaign with the torch symbol. However, this time we have to take this symbol to every house, because traitors will come with bows and arrows to ask for votes during the assembly elections. I do not know how right it is to expect that the court’s results will come before the elections.’
Advised to withdraw from the case
A few days ago, party leader Sanjay Raut had even advised the CJI to step down from the party related matter. He said, ‘Look, this is the festival of Ganpati ji. How many people’s houses has the Prime Minister visited so far? I do not know. Ganesh festival is celebrated at many places in Delhi, but the Prime Minister went to the Chief Justice’s house and the Prime Minister and the Chief Justice performed the aarti together.’
He said, ‘We know this much about God that if the protector of the Constitution meets politicians like this, people will get suspicious.’ He said that in a case, the party Prime Minister should not talk so closely with the Chief Justice. He said, ‘For the last 3 years, dates are being given one after the other. An illegal government is running.’
