Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal held a public court at Jantar Mantar. During this, he fiercely targeted the BJP and also told the reason behind resigning from jail. Arvind Kejriwal said, I cannot live with this stain. He said, I cannot even live with the stain of being dishonest, let alone work. He also asked the people that if I was dishonest, could I have made electricity and bus travel free for women? Could I have made government schools and hospitals better?

Arvind Kejriwal said, it costs 3 thousand crore rupees to make electricity free. If I was dishonest, what was the need to make electricity free? I would have eaten up 3 thousand crore rupees. If I was dishonest, why would I make bus fares free for women? He said, when I came out of jail, I thought that I will not sit on the CM chair until the court acquits me. But the lawyers said that there is no trust in this case, it can go on for 10-15 years, so I decided to go to the people’s court. He said, I cannot live with the stigma of being dishonest.

Kejriwal, who was released on bail from Tihar jail on September 13 after spending more than five months in jail in the liquor scam case, said he joined politics to serve the country and not to seek power or position. The former chief minister also said he resigned because he was hurt by the corruption charges against him. He said in the last 10 years he has earned only respect and not money.

Will leave government residence after Shraddha

Kejriwal said the upcoming Delhi assembly elections were a litmus test for him and if people thought he was dishonest, they should not vote for him. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief said he would leave the official chief minister’s residence during Navratri after the ‘shraddha’ period and stay among people who were offering him accommodation.
