Udhampur Terrorist Attack: After the terrorist attack in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, another terrorist incident has come to light. Terrorists have surrounded the police post in Udhampur. According to Jammu and Kashmir Police, firing is going on between security forces and terrorists. SSP Joginder Singh said that terrorists had surrounded the Sang police post of Basantgarh tehsil and started firing. However, the security forces immediately swung into action and started retaliatory action.

Local media reports said that terrorists attacked the Sang police post around 8 pm. After which the security forces started retaliatory action. The terrorists have fled towards the forest and the security forces have started an operation to search them. According to reports, additional troops have been sent to the spot from the surrounding security force posts. This area is 164 km from Udhampur by road and 28 km by foot.

Officials said 50 people were detained in the operation launched from Kathua, Udhampur and Bhaderwah, who are being questioned in connection with the ambush, reports news agency PTI. They said a massive search operation has been launched to trace and kill the terrorists hiding in the forests. With searches underway in several areas, more forces have been deployed in the dense forests of Udhampur, Samba, Rajouri and Poonch districts.

Five soldiers martyred in Kathua
