A major rail accident was averted in Samastipur, Bihar. Bihar Sampark Kranti Express going from Darbhanga to Delhi split into two parts between Pusa and Karpurigram station. The engine of the train moved ahead with two bogies while the rest of the bogies remained behind. This incident happened near Repura Gumti between Karpurigram and Pusa station. The passengers present in the train told that there was a strong jolt when the coupling opened and two bogies got separated along with the engine. This frightened everyone. However, it is fortunate that no news of any kind of damage has come to light so far. The driver stopped the engine after moving ahead for about a hundred meters. After that somehow the engine was taken back and the other bogies were again attached and the train was brought to Pusa station at a slow speed.
On receiving the information of the accident, the railway team reached the spot and started investigating the coupling of the train. At present, the train was standing at Pusa station till 12.45. Many technical officers of the railway were present at Pusa station, but were avoiding to tell anything about the accident. People from various media were trying to talk to the railway officials, but the officials were avoiding to tell much. They only told that investigation is being done and only after the investigation, it can be told what was the reason behind this accident. The passengers in the train were thanking God for averting a big accident. They told that the train got a sharp jolt due to the separation of the engine along with two bogies. The strong jolt caused panic among the passengers. However, according to the information received so far, no passenger has been injured.
