After this, the market of speculation is hot in Imphal. Let us tell you that this meeting took place immediately after the meeting of MLAs at the Chief Minister’s bungalow. The back to back meetings increased the stir in the political scenario of Manipur. There is speculation that the Chief Minister may resign.

So far, no information has been revealed about what was discussed between the two leaders in the closed room. Sources say that the Chief Minister must have told some demands to the central government during the meeting. Manipur government’s security advisor Kuldeep Singh was also present during this meeting.

Speculations about the chief minister’s possible resignation gained momentum after the Manipur Integrity Coordination Committee (COCOMI) declared a public emergency on Friday. However, top BJP sources told CNN-News18 that there was no question of him resigning.

The public emergency was declared after Kuki militants recently used drone bombings and short-range missiles in districts of the valley, killing several people and some security force personnel.

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister N Biren had attempted to resign on June 20 last year. He is expected to meet him at Raj Bhavan at around 11 am on Sunday.
