Manohar Lal’s nephew Ramit Khattar became ‘Aaya Ram Gaya Ram’, left Congress within a few hours and returned

Thursday was a day of very interesting events in Haryana politics. Former CM Manohar Lal Khattar’s nephew Ramit Khattar joined Congress in the afternoon, but a few hours later, i.e. by evening, he returned to BJP. In this way, on the lines of ‘Aaya Ram Gaya Ram’, he took membership of two parties within a day. He joined Congress in the afternoon in the presence of Rohtak Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra. This news created a stir in the BJP camp. After a few hours, the news came that Ramit Khattar has returned to BJP. His entry into the party was made by BJP candidate Manish Grover.

Manish Grover is the BJP candidate from Rohtak assembly seat and is pitted against Bharat Bhushan Batra of Congress. Ramit Khattar has not given any reason for switching sides twice in a single day. It is believed that he was contacted by the BJP camp and somehow he was persuaded to return. Manohar Lal Khattar is still a big leader in the state and CM Naib Singh Saini is considered close to him. In such a situation, his nephew joining the Congress was a symbolic setback for the party. Perhaps that is why the leadership became active for Ramit’s return and he was brought back within a few hours.

After returning to BJP, Ramit Khattar said that he had never joined Congress. He said, ‘Bharat Bhushan Batra had put a Congress sash on my shoulder. Its pictures were taken and then they were circulated. I am with BJP and with Manohar Lal ji.’ When he was asked that Batra had said that you have joined Congress. On this, Ramit said that such a claim was wrong. Ramit Bhattacharya said that look, I am here and I am with you people. Not only this, Ramit Khattar also touched the feet of BJP candidate Manish Grover on the stage.

Sources say that Ramit Khattar contacted the Congress candidate through a local leader and then joined the party. Ramit Khattar has no influence of his own, but being the nephew of the former CM, this matter became famous. For this reason, the BJP started efforts to bring him back and he was brought back within a few hours.

Because of whom the phrase ‘Aaya Ram Gaya Ram’ came into existence

If a leader changes parties frequently, he is given the title of Aaya Ram Gaya Ram. There is an interesting story behind its origin and this incident is from Haryana. Actually, in 1967, Gaya Lal was an MLA from Hasanpur seat of Haryana. He changed parties three times in a single day. First, he left Congress and joined Janata Party. Then after a while, he returned to Congress. After about 9 hours, he had a change of heart and once again went to Janata Party. Not only this, after a few days, he returned to Congress again. In this way, his party change was called Aaya Ram Gaya Ram and then it became a phrase.
