Maruti Suzuki on Thursday announced an increase in the prices of its cars. The company has said that the increase in prices will be effective from February 1. The highest increase is Rs 32,500, which will be for Celerio. The list includes Alto K10, Baleno, Dzire, Invicto and many other models. The report further states that the Indian subsidiary of Japanese automaker Suzuki said in a regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, “While we are committed to optimizing costs and minimizing the impact on customers, we will continue to incur some of the increased expenses.” are bound to be put on the market.”
Talking about price increases, the ex-showroom price of Celerio will increase by Rs 32,500, while the price of Invicto will be increased by Rs 30,000. Next are Grand Vitara and Brezza, whose prices will see an increase of up to Rs 25,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively. The price of Alto K10 will increase by Rs 19,500, while the price of WagonR will increase by Rs 15,000.
Among the other models, there are Dzire, Baleno and Fronx, whose prices have increased by Rs 10,000, Rs 9,000 and Rs 5,500 respectively. The price of S-presso and Swift has increased by Rs 5,000 (each).
Recently, the country’s largest car maker has entered the electric vehicles (EV) segment with e Vitara. This electric SUV will be launched soon. Despite starting the business late in this segment, the company has set a target of achieving the first position in it. Tata Motors has more than 60 percent share in this market. Managing Director of Maruti Suzuki, Hisashi Takeuchi said that the company aims to achieve the first position in electric vehicles in the next one year. He said, “I cannot give an estimate of sales figures but I can tell that we aim to achieve the first position in EV manufacturing within a year.” The company’s e Vitara will be manufactured in its factory in Gujarat. It will be exported to many countries including Japan.
The company will soon inform the price and booking date of e Vitara. Maruti Suzuki plans to add six EV models to its portfolio in the coming years. e Vitara will be manufactured on the HEARTECT-e platform specifically designed for battery-powered electric vehicles. It has two separate electric axles at the front and rear. The eVitara has Trail mode for driving on bad roads.
