These will include roles like managerial and directors. The layoff will also include posts like Vice President. Overall the company is preparing to remove 10% of the employees from the company.
This layoff in Google is being done in view of increasing competition in the field of AI. Also the aim of the company is to double the efficiency. Of the 10 percent retrenchments, some posts have been transferred to Individual Contributor roles. Whereas some roles have been eliminated by the company. According to the report, CEO Sundar Pichai had indicated in a consensus meeting that the roles of manager, director and vice president would be cut.
