The CJI said that flights were also affected due to the glitch in Microsoft. But the people of Madurai gave so much love last time that I had to come here today. It is worth noting that due to the glitch in Microsoft on Friday, there was a problem in Windows operating systems all over the world. Due to this, problems were faced in various sectors including flights and banking sector.
There is not much relief from the Microsoft outage even today. The outage had far-reaching consequences, disrupting services across several sectors including airlines, retail, banking and media. Not just in India, but also internationally in countries like the US, Australia and New Zealand. It also affected various Microsoft 365 services including PowerBI, Microsoft Fabric and Teams. The Chief Justice was speaking on the occasion of the completion of 20 years of the Madurai branch of the Madras High Court. Supreme Court judges, Justices BR Gavai, Surya Kant, R Mahadevan and MM Sundaresh were also present as guests on the occasion.
In his address, the CJI said that yesterday during the swearing-in of Justice Mahadevan, a large number of lawyers from Tamil Nadu were present. I went to them and apologized to them. I told them that I am sorry, I have stolen one of the best judges of Madras. The CJI did not stop here. He said that but these lawyers are one step ahead of the judges. They told me that dear CJI, if you are apologizing, then apologize twice. Once for RMDs and second for the appointment of Justice Sundaresh. You have stolen from us twice. The CJI said that I thought they had forgotten Justice Vishwanathan. So I apologize twice for stealing two excellent judges, once from the bar and second from the bench.
