Israeli intelligence agency Mossad was successful in killing Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh by entering Iran. This is nothing new for them. Mossad has carried out many such operations before. The history of the Israel-Palestine conflict is full of bloodshed and secret missions. This conflict has not been limited to the clash of military forces, but intelligence agencies have also played an important role in it. One such case occurred in January 1978 in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, when Wadih Haddad, the head of the ‘Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine’ (PFLP), died under mysterious circumstances. This incident exposed the strategy of secret assassinations of Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad.
Haddad’s mysterious death
In January 1978, Wadhe Haddad was suddenly admitted to the hospital after complaining of stomach pain. His condition deteriorated and despite the best efforts of the doctors, he died. Yasser Arafat sought the help of East German intelligence agency ‘Stasi’ to investigate the matter, but the real cause of death could not be ascertained.
Mossad’s planning
Years later, it was revealed that the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad was behind Haddad’s death. To take revenge for Haddad’s hijacking of Air France Flight 139 in 1976, Mossad adopted a unique method. Mossad agents replaced Haddad’s toothpaste with a poisonous toothpaste. This toxic substance slowly entered his body, eventually killing him. However, other versions also emerged in this case, in which the cause of his death was said to be poisonous chocolate.
How did Mossad reveal the death?
This secret plan of Mossad was not limited to Haddad only. The Israeli intelligence agency adopted such complex and secret methods many times to eliminate its enemies. Haddad’s death exposed the plans behind these murders and the working of Mossad. Mossad used various unique methods to eliminate its enemies silently and without any suspicion.
There may have been a strong planning for Haniya’s death as well
More recently, the attempt to target Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh is also an example of Mossad’s controversial methods. This case has again raised questions about the strategies of the Israeli intelligence agency.
