Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Tuesday that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has no problem in implementing the good model of any state in other states. Taking a dig at the working style of the West Bengal government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, he said that no state in the country would want to adopt the model of the state in its own state.
During the Question Hour in Lok Sabha, during the question-answer session on the issue of left-wing extremism, Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy said that the West Bengal government has been successful in stopping left-wing extremism through its development plans. In such a situation, will the central government implement the Bengal model in other states?
On this, the Home Minister said that if any state does well, then the government led by Prime Minister Modi has no problem in implementing its example, but no state would want the West Bengal model to be adopted there.
Decrease in incidents of left wing extremism
Responding to questions related to extremism, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said that incidents of left wing extremism have reduced by 53 percent in the last ten years. At the same time, the number of deaths of security forces in these incidents has also reduced by 72 percent. Rai said that people involved in left wing extremism activities do not believe in the constitution and democracy of this country. They want to grab power through weapons.
He said that in the year 2010, 96 districts were affected by left wing extremism, but due to the efforts of the government, left wing extremism has been reduced to 42 districts in 2023. Left wing extremists will be eliminated in the coming days.
