After the coup in Bangladesh, the process of changing ambassadors appointed in different countries has also started. The interim government of Mohammad Yunus in Bangladesh has ordered the return of ambassadors appointed in at least 6 countries. These ambassadors were appointed in the government of Sheikh Hasina. According to the information, ambassadors appointed on contract basis in America, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Germany, UAE and Maldives have been recalled.
Mohammad Imran was appointed in Washington, Kamrul Hasan in Moscow, Javed Patwari in Riyadh, Shahabuddin Ahmed in Tokyo, Musharraf Hussain Bhuiyan in Berlin, Abu Zafar in Abu Dhabi and Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad in Male. All of them have been ordered to return by the interim government. Ambassador Kamrul Ahsan was appointed in Moscow on 5 January 2020. Dr. Mohammad Javed Patwari was appointed in Saudi Arabia in August 2020.
Musharraf Hussain was appointed in Germany on 2 October 2020. He was also given additional charge of Czech Republic, Kosovo and International Tribunal for Law of the Sea. Notice has been sent to all of them from the office of Bangladesh Foreign Ministry. Apart from this, First Secretary Wahiduzzaman Noor and Counselor Arifa Rahman Ruma appointed in Washington have also been recalled.
Counsel Aparna Rani Pal and Counsel Mobashvira Farzan Mithila in Ottawa have also been given notice to return. Let us tell you that the new interim government was sworn in in Bangladesh. Before that, due to the violent movement, Sheikh Hasina resigned and came to India. Currently, Sheikh Hasina is in India.
