PM Modi Vande Bharat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flagged off six Vande Bharat trains for Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh through digital medium in Ranchi. The Prime Minister was scheduled to flag off these trains from Tatanagar but his helicopter could not take off due to low visibility and bad weather. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar were present at Tatanagar station on this occasion. These new trains will run on Tatanagar-Patna, Brahmapur-Tatanagar, Rourkela-Howrah, Deoghar-Varanasi, Bhagalpur-Howrah and Gaya-Howrah routes.

These trains will help reduce travel time, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement. These Vande Bharat Express trains will benefit regular travellers, professionals, businessmen and student communities. These trains will help promote religious tourism in the region by reducing travel time to pilgrimage sites like Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar (Jharkhand), Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Kalighat, Belur Math in Kolkata (West Bengal). The statement said that this will also boost the coal and mining industry in Dhanbad, jute industry in Kolkata, iron and steel sector in Durgapur.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed acceptance letters digitally to 32,000 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) on Sunday and released the first installment of Rs 32 crore for the construction of houses. He also handed over the keys digitally to 46,000 PMAY-G beneficiaries across the country. The Center has approved 1,13,400 houses for the poor in Jharkhand under the PMAY-G scheme.
