Who is Jared Isaacman?
According to reports, Jared Isaacman, born in 1983, is an American businessman and pilot. He is also a commercial astronaut. His company Draken International is a private airforce provider. Jared has also formed a company called Shift4 Payments, which does payment processing. Talking about his space missions, Jared commanded the Inspiration4 mission. This mission reached a height of 585 kilometers from the Earth. Now he is leading the Polaris Dawn mission.
What is Polaris Dawn Astronaut Mission
Preparations for the Polaris Dawn mission were going on for many years. It was to be launched in the year 2022, but it kept getting delayed due to various reasons. The astronauts accompanying the mission will do a private spacewalk for the first time. SpaceX’s spacesuit will be used during this. It is being said that this will be the highest human space flight after the Apollo Moon missions launched in the 1960s and 1970s.
The Polaris Dawn Mission will also be carried above the International Space Station. It will go about 700 kilometers above the Earth. The mission has been divided into three parts. Its funding and command is with Isaacman. Lieutenant Colonel Scott Poteet is playing the role of pilot. Sarah Gillis and Anna Menon have been added as mission specialists. Both are operations engineers in SpaceX.
