Reliance Announces JioTV OS with Hello Jio AI Assistant, JioHome App, JioTV+, JioPhonecall AI

Reliance Industries (RIL), which has businesses ranging from petroleum to telecom, is preparing to move ahead rapidly in 5G connectivity and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The new Jio TV OS and several AI-related services were announced in the company’s 47th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Thursday.

The company’s chairman and managing director, Mukesh Ambani, said that the company is adding new technologies to all its businesses. This will improve the company’s products and reduce its dependence on third parties. Ambani said, “We have created an AI-related digital infrastructure for all Reliance businesses. Along with this, our own software stack, end-to-end workflow and real-time dashboard have been created.” reliance claims that by increasing the use of technology, it can be included in the top 30 international companies in the near future. The company’s telecom unit Reliance Jio has obtained more than 350 patents in 5G and 6G technologies.

Jio has more than 85 percent of the 5G radio cells operating in the country. The company has upgraded more than 13 crore of its customers to True 5G network. The number of customers of the company’s 5G based broadband service JioAirFiber, launched last year, has reached nearly 10 lakh.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman, Akash Ambani introduced new services for JioTV+. More than 860 live TV channels can be watched in HD resolution in this subscription service. Apart from this, content is also available from OTT platforms like Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar. A new operating system has also been introduced for Jio’s set-top box. Ambani said that JioTV OS will provide fast and personalized experience. It supports ultra-HD 4K video resolution, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. Apart from this, upgrades of voice assistant Hello Jio have also been brought for TV OS. Hello Jio can be accessed by pressing the microphone button on Jio’s remote. The popularity of the company’s OTT platform JioCinema is also increasing rapidly. This year the Indian Premier League (IPL) was watched by about 62 crore users on JioCinema.
