In Haryana, BJP has cut the tickets of 15 MLAs including four ministers to counter the anti-incumbency factor, but it is also facing rebellion and opposition. There is also resentment in the party over the leaders coming from other parties and their promotion of nepotism. In such a situation, Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini and his election strategists have a very difficult challenge to gain power for the third consecutive time. CM Saini has not been successful in pacifying the rebellion till now. Now BJP’s hopes are pinned on PM Modi.
In the upcoming four assembly elections, the most difficult battle for BJP is being considered in Haryana. BJP leadership had to work hard even to decide the tickets. Even after the meeting of the Central Election Committee, tickets could be decided only after several rounds of meetings between senior leaders. Among these, state president Mohan Lal Baroli and senior leader Ram Vilas Sharma could not get tickets. Ministers Seema Trikha and Banwari Lal were also sacked from the state government. Minister Ranjit Chautala even left the party after not getting a ticket.
Dissatisfaction over giving importance to leaders coming from other parties
The party has given a lot of importance to leaders from other parties, especially Congress. Kiran Chaudhary, who came from Congress, was brought to Rajya Sabha and her daughter Shruti Chaudhary also got an assembly ticket. Aarti, daughter of Union Minister Rao Indrajit, who was originally from Congress but joined BJP a long time ago, also succeeded in getting a ticket.
Devendra Kaushik, son of Ramesh Kaushik who came from Congress and Bhavya Bishnoi, son of Kuldeep Bishnoi also got tickets. In such a situation, resentment has increased within the BJP and rebellion to protest has come to the fore. Party workers have filled the forms after not getting tickets on many seats. However, the party is trying to convince some people and keep them till the withdrawal of names.
Saini’s seat is also stuck
Due to rebellion and resentment, the problems of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini have increased. His own seat is not easy and he is also under pressure to make other candidates win. Party sources say that the tickets of many prominent leaders have been cut because they were considered to be from the opposing camp of former Chief Minister and current Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Also, those supporters of his who were strongly opposed to him have also got tickets.
Responsibility of Prime Minister Modi’s campaign
A lot of BJP’s election campaign depends on the campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi is starting his campaign from Kurukshetra on September 15. All the big leaders of the party will campaign in the state. Even in difficult circumstances, BJP is likely to get some benefit from the infighting within the Congress.
Hope to get benefit from division of votes
There is no coordination between Aam Aadmi Party and Congress in the state. Both are contesting the elections separately. The alliance of INLD and BSP is also in the election fray. JJP is contesting the elections in alliance with Azad Samaj Party. If the anti-BJP votes get divided in the social equations, then some positive situation can be created for it.
