Seven Kanwariyas died in stampede, accident in Siddheshwarnath of Jehanabad, death toll may increase, Bihar News

On the fourth Monday of Sawan, a big and bad news has come from Jehanabad. There is news of a big accident during the Shravani fair. At least seven devotees have died after being crushed in the stampede in the temple while more than a dozen Shiva devotees have been injured. The dead include six women and one man. The incident took place in the Baba Siddheshwar Nath temple area located near Jehanabad. The administration team has reached the spot. Relief and rescue work is being carried out with the help of security forces and volunteers deployed in the fair premises. Earlier, on the third Monday, an accident took place in Hajipur, Vaishali, when 9 devotees were burnt alive after coming in contact with electric current. The DJ Rath of the group of Shiva devotees going to collect Ganga water came in contact with a high tension wire.

According to the information, the incident happened on Tuesday night around 1:00. It is being told that while climbing the Barabar hill, there was a stampede on the stairs, which created an atmosphere of chaos. The devotees started running to save their lives. During this, about two dozen people were injured. Out of these, 16 injured were sent to Jehanabad Sadar Hospital and Makhdumpur Referral Hospital. The doctor declared six of them dead. It is believed that the death toll may increase. A team of doctors is engaged in treating the injured with promptness. Senior police and administration officials have reached the temple premises. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out there. At present, the situation is said to be under control.

It is being told that these Kanwariyas were going on a DJ trolley dancing to the bhajans of Bhole Baba. Meanwhile, in Sultanpur of Hajipur Industrial Area, a part of the DJ trolley going with them came in contact with a high tension wire. All the people riding on the trolley came in contact with the current. The trolley caught fire due to high voltage and more than a dozen Shiv devotees who came in contact got burnt. 9 of them died. After this there was an uproar. CM Nitish Kumar expressed deep grief over this incident and compensation of four lakhs each has been immediately given to the families of all the dead and injured.
