The Shinde cabinet has decided to form ‘Parshuram Economic Development Corporation’ for Brahmins and ‘Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Economic Development Corporation’ for the welfare of Rajput community. An allocation of Rs 50 crore each has been made for both.
Just before the assembly elections in Maharashtra, the Eknath Shinde government of the state has made a big move. The Shinde cabinet today decided to form two separate corporations for the welfare of the economically weaker sections of the Brahmin and Rajput castes in the state. It has been decided to form ‘Parshuram Economic Development Corporation’ for Brahmin castes and ‘Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Economic Development Corporation’ for the Rajput community. The cabinet has also allocated Rs 50 crore each for both the welfare boards.
The Brahmin community in Maharashtra was protesting for the establishment of this welfare board for several days. Before the assembly elections, many communities have become aggressive demanding reservation in the state. In view of this, the Shinde government has taken this decision. 24 important decisions were taken today in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. This also includes the decision to include three Kunbi sub-castes in the Other Backward Classes (OBC).
In another decision, the Maharashtra government on Monday approved a proposal to rename the Pune airport as Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Pune International Airport. An official said the decision was taken at a state cabinet meeting and the proposal will be sent to the Centre. The state cabinet approved the proposal of Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, who hails from Pune, to rename the airport. Mohol thanked the Mahayuti government of the BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP for the decision.
He wrote on ‘X’, “Thank you Mahayuti government. Thank you Devendra (Fadnavis) ji. The first step has been taken today to name the international airport in Pune as Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Vimanpattan and my proposal got approval in the cabinet meeting. It will now be sent to the central government for further processing.” Sant Tukaram was a famous saint and spiritual poet of the Bhakti movement. He was born in Pune district.
