Donald Trump, who is contesting the US presidential election, has suffered a major setback. More than 200 employees of his own party have announced their support for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. For this, they have issued an open letter. They told the people of America that if Trump is elected president for the second time, it will be a very unstable situation for the country. People will have to face a lot of instability in their daily lives.
In an open letter first reported by USA Today on Monday, 238 people who worked for former President George H.W. Bush, former President George W. Bush, former Arizona Senator John McCain and Utah Senator Mitt Romney are calling on moderate Republicans and conservative Independents to join them in supporting Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
“There is no doubt that we have many honest, ideological disagreements with Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Walz,” the Republicans wrote. “However, the choice we have been given is completely unacceptable.”
The signatories include Reed Galen, an alumnus of the George W. Bush and McCain campaigns who founded the anti-Trump group The Lincoln Project, and Olivia Troye, a former George W. Bush staffer and adviser to Trump’s Vice President Mike Pence.
“Another four years of Donald Trump’s chaotic leadership will harm America and undermine our sacred institutions,” the signatories warned.
In a statement, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung called the letter ridiculous. He said no one knows who these people are. “They would rather see the country burn than see President Trump successfully return to the White House and make America great again,” Cheung said.
Let us tell you that getting support from the other side of the political aisle has become a strategy for both Trump and Harris as election day approaches. Several Republicans, including Mesa, Arizona Mayor John Giles, former Illinois Representative Adam Kinzinger and Trump’s former press secretary Stephanie Grisham, spoke in favor of Kamala Harris at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago last week.
