India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya on Saturday kept mum on the issues that keep his life in the headlines, except for fitness. Pandya is currently facing many challenges inside and outside the field, but you cannot see the wrinkles of these challenges on his face which he hides well. Due to these incidents recently, he remained the topic of discussion. But on the occasion of the launch of his ‘sports apparel brand’, he hid all the emotions and talked at length on fitness.
Two days ago, Pandya and Natasha Stankovic officially announced their separation after four years of marriage. Just before this, he lagged behind Suryakumar Yadav in the race to become the captain of the Indian T20 team for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. However, on Saturday he just talked about fitness. Pandya said, “When our body does not get tired, our mind gets tired. So many times in life when I was able to push my limits, it happened only when my mind got tired but I kept telling my body to move forward. ”
Pandya said, “If you and I try 20-20 times, then there is no difference between the two. But if I try 25 times and challenge myself, then next time I will try 25 times. Then I will try 30 times next time.” But ironically, his chances of becoming the captain diminished due to concerns about fitness. He could not play in all three formats of the game due to fitness and could not bowl much in limited overs matches, especially in ODIs.
Earlier this month, Pandya celebrated with the T20 World Cup winning team on an open bus. But in the weeks that followed, Pandya lost some important things. India’s T20 World Cup vice-captain Pandya was being seen as the player to replace Rohit Sharma. But the news of his removal from the captaincy role came along with the announcement of his divorce. But all this did not affect Pandya. He made his first public appearance after this to launch his sports apparel brand in which he shared information about his fitness.
“Sometimes it is very important to keep your mind without thoughts. When my trainer tells me to do 10 push-ups, I always do 15 push-ups,” the 30-year-old Pandya said. “This has increased my stamina and I think everyone who wants to start a fitness journey should focus on this,” he added.
