Spain defeated England 2-1 to win their record fourth UEFA Euro title. The first half of this title match in Berlin was very exciting, Spain tried to dominate from the beginning, but England did not let them score a goal by not succumbing to the pressure. However, in the second half, Spain managed to score the first goal of the title match. The team took a 1-0 lead over England with a goal by Neco Williams in the 47th minute. England equalized in the 73rd minute with a goal by Cole Palmer. The match was tied at 1-1 when Spain’s substitute Mikel Oyarzabal scored in the 86th minute to give the team a 2-1 lead which remained till the end.

Young sensation Lamine Yamal played a key role in Spain’s first goal as he assisted Williams in the 47th minute.
Spain has won the Euro title for the first time since 2012. The team has previously lifted the trophy three times in 1964, 2008 and 2012.

With this defeat, England’s dream of winning a major tournament after 1966 remained unfulfilled. England has faced defeat in the finals of this tournament consecutively. In 2020, Italy won the title by defeating England in a penalty shootout.
The Spanish team appeared emotional after the win. Nico Williams was seen covering his face with his hands, overwhelmed by the moment, but was later consoled by his teammates. Another key Spanish player, Dani Carvajal, was also emotional as his teammates celebrated around him.
