Tata Electronics make record as iPhone production reaches Rs 40000 crore mark

Tata Electronics has made a record in iPhone production. The company is manufacturing iPhones extensively in India and its production has crossed Rs 40 thousand crore in 2024. Tata Electronics has been successful in establishing a strong position in the supply of iPhone for Apple Inc. The company has tried to meet Apple’s needs well in the fields of production, export and direct employment.

Tata Electronics had acquired the Wistron iPhone facility located in Narasapur, Karnataka in October 2023 for $125 million. After that, by mid-2024, the company showed momentum in operations and the annual production of the plant has crossed Rs 40 thousand crore. This production was done between January and December 2024. Business Standard’s Report According to the company’s production growth has increased by 180 percent. Whereas last year it was only Rs 14,300 crore.

77% of the plant’s production is being exported to foreign countries. In this sense, the company has succeeded in establishing itself as a big player in India’s iPhone export market. Tata Electronics has also increased its workforce. The company has increased direct recruitment by 63 percent. It was at the figure of 19 thousand in 2023, which increased to 31000 in 2024. Due to this increase in workforce, the Narsapur plant has now become the second largest iPhone manufacturing facility in India.

If we talk about total iPhone exports in India, Tata Electronics holds 29 percent share. In this respect, the company has emerged as the second largest exporter of iPhone. Not just Apple, the company is now also planning to partner with China’s leading smartphone makers like Xiaomi and Oppo. After which the company’s client portfolio will become even bigger. Tata Electronics is rapidly expanding its Electronics Manufacturing Service (EMS) business.
