Pragati Maidan tunnel: While travelling in the 1.3 km long Pragati Maidan tunnel in the capital Delhi, the paintings on the walls attract everyone. This art work is based on the six seasons of India. A glimpse of festivals from Kashmir to Kanyakumari can also be seen in this tunnel. This is the art work made in the largest area.
The Public Works Department was preparing to include it in the Guinness Book of World Records, but before that this art work got washed away in water.
Leakage from the walls of the tunnel after the rain has damaged the painting. PWD officials say that water accumulated in the basement of Pragati Maidan is leaking through the walls and coming out of the tunnel.
There is art work in 98 thousand square meters
The record of the largest outdoor public art work in the world is registered in the name of South Korea, where the painting has been made in an area of 23 thousand 688 square meters. Whereas this art work in Pragati Maidan Tunnel has been made in an area of 98 thousand square meters. Therefore, there were preparations to register it in the Guinness Book of Records.

It is worth noting that in June 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Pragati Maidan Tunnel, so that people going from Ring Road to Lutyens Delhi could get direct connectivity. However, a few months after its inauguration, many problems started coming in the tunnel, which were also fixed by the construction agency in between, but the problem increased more last year. The problem of water leakage increased in many parts of the tunnel. Also, traffic was also closed due to road breakage at many places. Meanwhile, the artwork done on the walls of the tunnel had also become very ugly.
