Israel-Iran Tension: A new crisis has deepened for Israel, which is engaged in a war against Hamas. Iran is burning in the fire of revenge after the murder of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. Amidst the growing tension with Hezbollah and Iran, the former Israeli military chief has said that the possibility of war is very close. Meanwhile, America has gone a step ahead and sent a submarine equipped with missiles into the Middle East. On the other hand, in view of Iran’s possible attack on Israel, Lufthansa has canceled many of its flights till August 21. There will be no flights to Tel Aviv, Tehran, Beirut, Amman and Erbil till August 21.
Israel has been preparing for a major attack since last month amid rising tensions with Hezbollah and Iran. In fact, a month ago, 12 children were killed in a missile attack in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights and Israel responded by killing a senior Hezbollah commander in Beirut. A day after that operation, Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran, after which Iran vowed to retaliate against Israel. According to a report in the Jerusalem Post, former IDF Chief Israel Ziv told local Israeli media, “We have reached the moment where war can actually happen at any time.”

“Somehow, the range of fire keeps increasing and the way Israel is dealing with it … it’s clear that this is heading towards a more serious escalation,” Ziv said. He added, “I don’t think any of us really know what the Iranians and Hezbollah actually intend to do.”
America sent a submarine equipped with missiles
Amid the growing situation of war, the US has sent a missile-equipped submarine to the Middle East. This also includes an aircraft vehicle equipped with F-35C fighter jets. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that on Sunday he had spoken to US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and told him that Iran is preparing a large-scale military attack on Israel. Soon after, the Pentagon issued a statement and informed that the US is sending more troops and missile-equipped submarines to the Middle East. The US again reiterated that it is committed to protecting its friend Israel.
More than 40,000 people have been killed in Gaza
Meanwhile, Israeli attacks in Gaza continue. According to Israeli army figures, about 1,200 people were killed in the Hamas-led attack on Israeli communities around the Gaza Strip on October 7 and more than 100 are still held by Hamas. In response, the Palestinian Health Ministry says the Israeli army has turned Gaza into a crematorium. Most of the population has been displaced and about 40,000 people have been killed. However, the separate numbers of innocent and Hamas terrorists among those killed are not determined.
