Rohit was dismissed by Bangladesh fast bowler Hasan Mahmud in the first innings and by Taskin Ahmed in the second innings. This is the fourth time in Tests that Rohit Sharma has been dismissed in single digits in both innings of the match.

Rohit Sharma scored 6 runs in 19 balls in the first Test match against Bangladesh. In the second innings, Rohit scored five runs in 7 balls. Earlier, against Sri Lanka in Galle in 2015, against South Africa in Delhi in 2015 and against South Africa in Centurion in 2023, he returned to the pavilion on single digits in both innings of a match.

India scored 81 runs for three wickets in their second innings against Bangladesh till stumps on the second day of the first Test match of the two-match series and increased their total lead to 308 runs. At the end of the day’s play, Shubman Gill was at the crease with 33 runs and wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant with 12 runs.
