Indian captain Rohit Sharma could not perform as expected in the first match of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. In the match played in Chennai, Rohit could not reach double digits in both the innings. Rohit was dismissed by Bangladesh fast bowler Hasan Mahmud in the first innings and by Taskin Ahmed in the second innings. This is the fourth time in Tests that Rohit Sharma has been dismissed in single digits in both innings of the match.
Rohit Sharma scored 6 runs in 19 balls in the first Test match against Bangladesh. In the second innings, Rohit scored five runs in 7 balls. Earlier, against Sri Lanka in Galle in 2015, against South Africa in Delhi in 2015 and against South Africa in Centurion in 2023, he returned to the pavilion on single digits in both innings of a match.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma has played in Test for the first time since March. Rohit scored a century in the last match of the Test series against England. He also scored 400 runs in the series. India scored 81 runs for three wickets in their second innings against Bangladesh till stumps on the second day of the first Test match of the two-match series and increased their total lead to 308 runs. At the end of the day’s play, Shubman Gill was at the crease with 33 runs and wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant with 12 runs.
