Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav says that we are keeping an eye on those who conspire to overturn trains by placing stones, iron and other things on the railway tracks. The Railway Minister said that we are taking these cases seriously and the NIA has also been included in the investigation of such cases. He said, ‘The Railway Administration has taken these cases seriously. We are in touch with the state governments, DGP, Home Secretaries and Police etc. Apart from this, NIA has also been included.’ The minister said in a strict tone that we will take strict action against those who are involved in such cases. The Railway Administration is working very hard to ensure that such an incident does not happen on the railway track again.
Apart from this, we will also catch the miscreants. He said that the railways is engaged in ensuring security by taking all the zones and RPF together. Such cases have come to light in many places including Kanpur, Ajmer, when rods, stones and other things were kept on the railway track. At one place, a cooking gas cylinder was found. In many such cases, the alertness of the railway drivers helped in averting accidents, but the question arises that who are the people who are carrying out such incidents. Why do these people want to cause a big accident in the country by overturning trains?
Just on 22 September, a similar case came to light when a gas cylinder was found on the railway track. Due to the presence of mind of the train driver, a major accident was averted and the driver applied emergency brakes. This train was going from Kanpur to Prayagraj. A similar case came to light in Kanpur on 15 September. Then someone had placed a cylinder and some other objectionable things in front of the Kalindi Express.
Apart from this, on September 21, unknown people had removed fish plates from the tracks. Keyman Subhash Kumar informed the officials about this and then immediately the trains coming on that route were stopped some distance away from the spot of the incident. However, the railway has arrested three people in this case, who turned out to be its own employees. A similar case came to light on Sunday on the Bathinda Delhi route, when 9 rods were found lying on the railway track. This incident happened at 3 am.
