IMD Rainfall Alert, Weather Update: Heavy rains are falling in all the states of North India including the national capital Delhi, Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has said that there will be very heavy rains in the western Himalayan areas and the plains of North India today. There is a possibility of getting some relief from very heavy rains only after today. However, the period of heavy rains will continue. At the same time, there will be very heavy rains in Northeast India for the next seven days, while an alert of torrential rains has been issued in South India for the next five days.

According to the Meteorological Department, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh will receive heavy rains from August 11-17. Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh will receive heavy rains on August 11 and then August 14-17, West Rajasthan on August 11-14, Punjab on August 11, Haryana, Chandigarh on August 11-15. Apart from this, very heavy rain warnings have been issued for Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand on August 11 and East Rajasthan on August 11 and 12.

For the states of western and central India, the weather department has said that the rain will continue for a week. Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra will receive very heavy rain on August 11. On the other hand, if we talk about the states of Northeast India, there is an alert of torrential rain on August 11-17 in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, August 11, 14 and 16 in Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, August 14-16 in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Gangetic West Bengal, August 13-15 in Jharkhand, August 11 and 13-15 in Odisha.

Rain brings relief from humidity in many parts of Punjab and Haryana

Ambala in Haryana received 83.8 mm of rain, Karnal 36.8 mm, Sirsa 20 mm and Hisar 6 mm of rain during this period. Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, received 28.8 mm of rain.
