Fast bowler Umran Malik has made a lot of headlines in the last two years. While playing for IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2022, he performed brilliantly and on the basis of this he also made a place in the Indian team. He got a place in the shortest format of the game. However, after getting a chance in a few matches, he could not maintain his performance and was dropped from the team. However, Umran Malik is trying his best to make a comeback.
The last season of IPL was also not good for Umran Malik. He did not get a place in the playing eleven. This season was great for the Hyderabad team. The team reached the final. However, the fast bowler got a chance to play in only one match. In that match, he could not even complete his quota and bowled only one over, giving 15 runs.
In an interview with the Indian Express, Umran said that he got less playing time with his state team due to bad weather. Umran said, “I was fully prepared for that season. But the weather did not help. Then I was eagerly waiting for the IPL because I had achieved a lot in the months before the IPL. Unfortunately that too did not happen as I wanted.

He further said, “But it also gave me time to work on the things I wanted to do in the practice sessions. If you ask me, I have definitely become a good bowler. I injured my hamstring after the IPL and as soon as I recovered, I got dengue.” Umran revealed how he is working on his bowling ahead of the upcoming season, and he has his eyes set on India’s tour of Australia later this year.
“These days I am bowling a lot more with the new ball because I believe swing can make a huge difference to my pace. I want to learn a few things, especially how to make a plan and execute it,” Umran said.
