Monsoon has been kind to a large part of the country for the last two months. There has been heavy rainfall in July and August. This is the second year in the last 30 years when these two months have been so wet. At the same time, good rain is also good news for the farmers. This rain is a boon for the Kharif crop. In July and August, the entire country received 585 mm of rain, while in the next two days it crossed 595 mm. This is 11 percent more than normal.
In 2019 too, July and August were drenched by clouds. In the last 30 years, the highest rainfall of 596 mm was recorded in 2019. There was 9 percent more rainfall in the month of July. On the other hand, 16 percent more rainfall than normal was recorded in August. More rainfall than expected was recorded in the month of August. The Meteorological Department had predicted rain for 10 to 14 days in August. However, the rain was even more kind than that. Clouds rained heavily not only in North India but also in the South.
In the monsoon season which runs from June to September, the maximum rainfall is happening in the months of July and August. In the month of June, the monsoon was intermittent and the possibility of drought was visible. Talking about last year, in the month of July, there was 13 percent more rainfall than normal but there was drought in August. Famous meteorologist M Rajeevan said that due to Madden Julian Oscillation, the monsoon gained momentum in India this time.
There will be good rain in the next two weeks
American agencies said that this time there will be the effect of La Nina. La Nina causes more rainfall. The weather department has predicted that there will be good rainfall for the next two weeks. There is a low pressure area over Saurashtra and Kutch due to which there is heavy rainfall in Gujarat. There is a possibility of a storm forming in the Arabian Sea.

According to Skymet Weather, heavy rains may occur in the western districts of Gujarat in the next 24 hours. Apart from this, heavy rains are also expected in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana. Light to moderate rains may also occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, eastern Rajasthan, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Light rains are expected in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, eastern Uttar Pradesh.
