What is ‘Molten Thermite’, why are Ukrainian drones making it rain; what is the deadly plan to generate 4000 degree heat

The war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for the last two and a half years. Both sides are using various types of weapons and chemicals in this war so that the enemy country can suffer maximum damage. Meanwhile, Ukraine has carried out several deadly attacks on Russia in recent times. A new type of attack has also been seen in which Ukraine has sprayed molten thermite in Russian areas from drones. A video circulating on social media shows a Ukrainian drone spraying flammable material on Russian targets. This has also been claimed in the Ukrainian media.

Such footage has been posted on several Ukrainian Telegram accounts that post updates on the Russia-Ukraine war. A user named OSINT Technical shared those footage on the social media platform X, saying, “A Ukrainian drone in eastern Ukraine has dropped molten thermite on trees occupied by Russia, causing them to catch fire.” It can also be clearly seen in the footage that a drone is dropping flammable material on trees, causing a fire there. Ukrainian media has claimed that this flammable material is molten thermite. However, it has not been revealed when this video is from.

What is ‘Molten Thermite’?

According to the Science Channel, thermite is a powdered mixture of aluminum and ferric oxide (rust), which react to produce alumina and molten iron. That is, this substance emits a temperature of more than 4,400 degrees Fahrenheit when it burns. This temperature is twice as hot as molten lava. It is used to generate high temperatures in any area and melt or turn everything there into ashes. It is usually used on the battlefield for complete destruction.

India can mediate between Russia and Ukraine, Putin also named two more countries

It is used in incendiary bombs, to reduce metals from their oxides, and in welding and casting iron and steel. The powder contains oxides of metals such as aluminum and iron. When it is burned or heated, the chemical combination of aluminum with the oxides of oxygen occurs, resulting in a very high temperature. The Ukrainian Military Center reports that Molten Thermite is also capable of burning through the protective armor of military vehicles.

What is Ukraine’s plan for rain of fire?

Another report said that the Ukrainian army has started deploying drones retrofitted with payloads equipped with molten thermite. The Ukrainian army is converting its lethal fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs – drones) into “flamethrower” weapons to make them more effective and powerful. So that a large-scale fire war can be waged in Russian territories. Ukraine sees this strategy as an important strategic advance in the war against Russia. Kiev has become capable of attacking Russian targets on a large scale by using them. Ukraine is using molten thermite especially in the densely forested areas of the eastern regions, which have often been used by enemy forces as a safe haven and a cover. That is, Ukraine is trying to rain death where Russian soldiers are hiding.
