What is ToxicPanda It can enter Android smartphones and steal money there is no solution to it

A potential banking trojan named ToxicPanda is in the early stages of its development. Researchers from Europe and Latin America have discovered this. It is believed that this Trojan has been taken from another banking Trojan discovered in the year 2023. With the help of ToxicPanda, accounts on hacked smartphones are controlled remotely. By using this, cyber attackers can transfer money from the affected user’s account. ToxicPanda was reportedly found on more than 1,500 devices. The attackers targeted users of 16 banking institutions.

Clefi’s Threat Intelligence researchers in October discovered a new Android malware Turnt up. Earlier it was identified as TgToxic. Apart from this, another banking Trojan was also discovered by Clefi researchers last year. The Android malware found was not TgToxic. After this researchers started tracking it as Toxicpanda. Warned that the malware could cause an account takeover (ATO) once a victim’s device is infected.

Researchers say that by tricking the user, Toxicpanda can also fail his banking security measures and can cause financial loss to the user. With the help of accessibility services present in Android smartphones, ToxicPanda can steal data from all apps. It is so clever that it can dodge even security features like OTP.

Users believe that the Chinese are the creators of ToxicPanda malware and till now it has infected more than 1,500 devices. Most users are from Italy. After that people of Portugal, Spain, France and Peru have been affected.

Researchers say that existing antivirus solutions fail to detect threats like ToxicPanda. This also shows that malware makers in China are now focusing on other markets.
