In the Haryana Assembly elections, despite discussions, Congress did not give a single seat to Samajwadi Party, but Samajwadi Party chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will campaign for Congress’s popular candidate Chiranjiv Rao. Not only this, Bihar’s former Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav will also seek votes for Chiranjiv Rao in Haryana’s Rewari area. The area where these two Yadav leaders are going to seek votes for Congress candidate Chiranjiv Rao is called Ahirwal and comes under Southern Haryana. It is believed that the election battle in Ahirwal area is going to be interesting due to the entry of both the Yadav leaders in the election campaign at the end of this month.

Who is Chiranjeev Rao?

Chiranjiv Rao is the outgoing Congress MLA from Rewari assembly seat in southern Haryana and is again a Congress candidate. Chiranjiv is the son of Captain Ajay Singh Yadav, president of the OBC cell of the Congress, and son-in-law of RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav. In this sense, he is brother-in-law of Tejashwi, while Akhilesh B is his relative as one of Lalu Yadav’s daughters is married to Akhilesh Yadav’s nephew Tej Pratap Yadav.

38-year-old Chiranjeev has been an MLA from Rewari since 2019. He is pitted against Anil Dahina of the BJP. Rao’s father Captain Ajay Singh Yadav has been an MLA from this seat four times. He has been winning this seat continuously from 2000 to 2014 on a Congress ticket. Since 2019, his son has been in power in this seat. Only between 2014 and 2019, Randhir Singh Kapadiwas of the BJP had snatched this seat from the Yadav family.

What is the political equation of Ahirwal

The area of Rewari and the surrounding districts is called Ahirwal. This is an area spread across southern Haryana, north-eastern Rajasthan and parts of south-western Delhi, which was once a small princely state. That princely state was ruled by the Ahir community or Yadavs. This is a backward area of Haryana. The population of Yadavs is high here. Rao Birendra Singh, who hails from this area, has been the Chief Minister of Haryana. His son Rao Indrajit has been the center of Congress politics in this region for a long time.

Chiranjeev confirmed

Chiranjiv has confirmed that Tejashwi and Akhilesh Yadav will come and campaign in his favour but he has not yet told when both the leaders are coming.
