Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister of Bangladesh on Monday. Also, she fled from this turbulent country. Now her son and former chief advisor has made a big claim about Hasina. He said that now the former PM is unlikely to return to politics. Sajeeb Wazed Joy said this in the BBC World Service’s Newshour program. He said, ‘She made many efforts to bring change in the country. Despite this, she is very disappointed with the strong public sentiment against her government. That’s why she has decided to leave the post of PM.’
Sajeeb Wazed Joy said, “She (Sheikh Hasina) changed Bangladesh. When she took power, it was called a failed state. It was a poor country. But now it is considered one of the emerging countries of Asia.” His son completely denied the allegations that the government was being strict with the protesters. Joy said, “They beat 13 policemen to death just yesterday. What do you expect the police to do when the mob is beating people to death?” He said that Sheikh Hasina was considering resigning since Sunday. On the insistence of her family members, she left the country for her safety.
Has there been a change in Sheikh Hasina’s plans?
