Team India was stuck in the hotel due to heavy storm and rain in Barbados, West Indies. Team India will reach India on Thursday morning. Fans are eagerly waiting to get a glimpse of the Indian cricket team. On Thursday, a road show will be taken out in Mumbai and celebrations will be held to celebrate Team India becoming the world champion. A huge crowd of fans is expected for this. Mumbai Police has issued an advisory. Police says that due to the road show, traffic will be restricted on Marine Drive in the evening. If anyone wants to participate in the procession, then reach before 4:30 pm and reach Wankhede Stadium before 6 pm.
Team India will reach Delhi at 6:30 am in a special Air India flight. Their meeting with PM Modi is scheduled at 11 am. After this, they will leave for Mumbai, where a victory procession is scheduled on Marine Drive and then celebrations at Wankhede Stadium. Team India has won the T20 title for the second time by winning the final match against South Africa by 7 runs on June 29. Earlier in 2007, Team India won the T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Team India has become the world champion for the first time under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. The Mumbai Police issued traffic restrictions around Marine Drive late Wednesday evening and advisory ahead of Team India’s celebratory roadshow in the city on Thursday. The police said that the T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 winner Team India is visiting Mumbai and a procession will be taken out on Marine Drive on July 4 to celebrate the Indian cricket team, for which a huge crowd is expected to gather at Marine Drive. “Visitors are requested to use public transport,” the police said.

Mumbai Police DCP Zone 1 Praveen Munde said in a video message, “The Indian cricket team is arriving in Mumbai on Thursday after winning the T20 World Cup. A Vijay Yatra is being taken out in an open bus. It will be held on Marine Drive between Nariman Point and Wankhede Stadium from 5-7 pm. If you want to join the procession, please reach before 4:30 pm and gather on the promenade side, not on the road. If you want to attend the 7 pm event at Wankhede Stadium, please ensure that you reach the stadium before 6 pm and take your seats. Please try to use public transport to avoid traffic.”
Many routes diverted
A traffic notification issued by the Mumbai Police said that as per the instructions, parking will be prohibited on the roads for July 4. Police said that both the boundaries of the Coastal Road will remain open for traffic. Traffic before and after the Coastal Road will be diverted via Princess Street Bridge/Meghdoot Bridge. Mumbai Police said that on Thursday, seven roads in south Mumbai will be completely closed for vehicular movement to prevent any kind of traffic jam.
