If LG VK Saxena accepts the Kejriwal government’s proposal, then there will be a 50 percent discount on the challan issued on vehicles in Delhi. Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot has given information about the new proposal.
The Delhi government’s Transport Minister announced the new scheme on Wednesday. He said that for the convenience of Delhiites and to encourage settlement of traffic fines, the Delhi government has decided to reduce the challan amount by 50% under specific sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. He also informed that a proposal for this has been sent to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena for approval. He said that the Delhi government under the leadership of Kejriwal is dedicated to making the lives of Delhiites easy and comfortable.
Discount will be given on paying invoice on time
Kailash Gehlot has also said that the benefit of 50 percent discount on the challan will be available only if it is paid within the stipulated time. He said that the discount will be available if the old challan is paid within 90 days of the notification. This benefit will be available if the challan issued after the notification of the rule is paid within 30 days.
